Porsche Servicing for all models

Porsche Servicing Technician

2021 will be the 20th anniversary of the start of our business and whilst we have been busy showing our customers the new aspects of the business we are evolving; our core department of Porsche servicing can sometimes get overlooked. Over the coming months I will be aiming to showcase a little more on the diversity of work that the technicians complete. This will be communicated through our social media channels. So, keep an eye open.

Our service department is purely Porsche with six full-time technicians: Dan, Ricky, Neil, Chris, Carl and James. Each of the guys have their own favourite Porsche models and areas of expertise. A lot of what they know on Porsche models ranging over the fifty year plus production run, has been learnt from working on the cars (for over 25 years in some cases). This knowledge is not something you can easily learn from a textbook. The nuances of how Porsches are manufactured help them identify the best way to disassemble and fault find. The subsequent know-how would fill several volumes of encyclopaedias. These guys just know it! Keeping up with the new models that Porsche are now producing, is something that we as a team have a great interest in. Our ‘Porsche Partner Network’ status grants us access to Porsche manufacturer training at Porsche Reading. As a result, our team share the same training modules the OPC technicians are taking, which is invaluable in this age of computer control and centralised fault diagnosis.

Cayenne Turbo Coupe and 997 GTS

Our real USP is the duality of what the guys are capable of. One day they could be re-coding a key on a new Macan and the following, stripping a 997 for a full suspension refresh. It is really interesting work for them and no doubt keeps them sharp too. We have also been conscious when hiring not to just recruit technically excellent service technicians, but also personable people that share our business ethos of engineering exhilaration. They go above and beyond what is expected to give customers great service. Wherever possible Lydia, who manages the service workshop, will pass out the daily jobs according to the technician who serviced or maintained the car previously. This is something we are lucky to be able to offer the customer given our very high level of staff retention, with some of our technicians having well over ten years’ service with the business. This vehicle familiarity really helps make informed decisions on what items need replacing and when.
