We are one of the leading Porsche engine rebuild specialists in the UK, so if you are looking to rebuild your Porsche engine, you’re in safe hands. Our specialist engine team has over 30 years of combined experience working on both air and water-cooled models.
Whether you are looking for a rebuild as part of your project build or restoration, or your desire to improve the reliability, power or torque characteristics of the engine, we can advise you on the best approach to achieve your needs.
We offer several off the shelf packages that we have exclusively developed over many years of extensive R&D, therefore, there are plenty of options for you to choose from a factory specification Porsche engine rebuild or one of several bespoke Porsche engine upgrades.
These packages are available for M96, M97 water-cooled engines and several air-cooled engines, including our popular 964 upgrades to 3.8l engines capable of up to 400bhp. All engines built can be run in on the engine dyno and print outs provided for service history files.
MECHANICAL
FAILURES
Sadly, on occasions, some stock engines will suffer from mechanical failures. Whilst this is never a pleasant reason to rebuild a Porsche engine, our engineers can guide you through the correct technical decisions to complete your rebuild cost-effectively and minimise any potential future issues. The mantra employed at RPM Technik is “do it once and do it properly”. This is never more appropriate than when applied to rebuilding an engine.
END OF SEASON REFRESH
PORSCHE RACE ENGINES
If you are racing your Porsche and require an end of season refresh, our engineers are able to strip and assess your race engine, provide a full report on its health and any components that should be changed to ensure reliability and performance are maintained.
Our team have rebuilt the following Porsche motorsport engines: 2.7 RS, 3.0 RS/RSR, 964 RS/RSR, 993 RS/RSR, 993 GT2 Evo, 935, 956, 962, GT1, 996 GT3 Cup, 997 GT3 Cup and 991 GT3 Cup. Their understanding of how Porsche Motorsport engines are rebuilt is exceptional and we have invested heavily to provide all the Porsche motorsport tooling necessary to do this work properly.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO REBUILD A PORSCHE ENGINE?
The answer to this is not only dictated by what Porsche engine you are rebuilding, but also how complete a build is being undertaken. It is difficult to compare quotations as the approach, parts suppliers and comprehensiveness of the build will vary between companies.
We always provide a detailed breakdown of work completed and will keep you up to date with a running photo log of the build process. Engine rebuilds are typically turned around over two to four weeks depending on the complexity and upgrades of the build.
Below are some of the more popular engine rebuilds undertaken at RPM Technik:
- Factory spec builds on air cooled, M96/M97 and DFI engines (prices from £10,000 +VAT)
- GT3, GT2 and Cup car engines (prices from £ POA)
- Race engines – 935, 962, 959 & GT1 engines all built in-house (prices from £ POA)
- Turnkey 3.8l Air Cooled engine (prices from £20,000+VAT)
- CSR engine builds for M96/M97 engines (prices from £ POA)
