Most highly anticipated Porsche releases of 2025/26
With the recent launch of Porsche’s 992.2 mid-generation update (find the comparison between 992.1 and .2 here) the full Carrera lineup has been refreshed with the 992.2 upgrades, including newly designed bumpers and interior drivers display. But where the biggest differences are found is in the 992.2 generations configurations. Changes to the Carrera T, which can now only be had with a 6 speed manual transmission, a choice that has garnered a lot of praise from motoring journalists and Porsche enthusiasts alike! Or the GTS now titled the ‘T-hybrid GTS’ because of its new electric turbochargers as well as the electric motor integrated into the PDK system. But these are just the models that Porsche have chosen to show off already, what about the models they’re still waiting to release?
992.2 Turbo & Turbo S
The 992.2 Turbo and Turbo S are sure to integrate the new hybrid tech found in the Second Gen GTS as now the updated GTS can do 0-60 in an outrageously quick 3 seconds flat (although as some people have found, it can do as low as 2.7s) and the Turbo S needs to be a significant step above that. The 992 Turbo S had a blisteringly fast 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds so one upping that is a serious undertaking. But with the addition of Porsches recent battery tech this is a goal well within reach for the team over in Stuttgart. The new Taycan Turbo GT shows that it is possible as that can put down sub-2 second 0-60 sprints. We will have to wait and see what they’re finally able to produce (we hope) later on this year but whatever it is, we are sure that it will have the insane pace to be more than worthy of the Turbo badge that has been a signature for speed for so many previous generations of 911.

992.2 GT3 RS
The 992.2 GT3 RS (or what it is suspected to be) was recently spotted testing at the Nürburgring, wearing significantly wider rear arches compared to the current RS, which are more inline with GT3 Cup. This just builds on the already extremely aggressive look of the GT3 RS and would allow for even wider rear tyres, giving more grip on the integral rear axle around which the whole 911 is designed. These appear to still be early test cars however, so there are likely multiple additional updates that have not been shown off. Rumours say that the 992.2 GT3 RS will be using the new ‘T-Hybrid’ turbos, making it potentially the first non-naturally aspirated GT3. Given that the 992.2 GT3 and GT3 Touring have already been released we do not believe the RS is too far off in the future.
992.2 GT2 RS
The 992.2 GT2 RS, there is not much to be said about this as the 992 generation has not seen any kind of GT2 model so far. However, there has been what appears to be a GT3 RS test mule with cutouts in the rear bumper that match up closely to the placement of the turbos in other 992 models. So, whilst the speculation may seem vague, it is within reason to assume that the 992.2 GT2 RS would feature the engine from the GT3 RS with the addition of a hybrid system. This combination (if the speculation is correct) could make for another generation of Nürburgring record holder that the previous 991 GT2 RS was so famed for.

992.2 Speedster
Most recently there has been a test mule spotted featuring the body and arches from the 992 S/T but with the top from a cabriolet. This has been speculated to be the 992.2 Speedster test mule that has not yet been fitted with the signature speedster humps on the rear lid. Again, this is early days but definitely one to keep an eye out for!

It is safe to assume that there will be accompanying Manthey upgrade kits for each of the upcoming and existing 992.2 GT Porsche products, and we hope that a 992.2 GT2 RS MR could take the Nürburgring lap record crown from the current king, the AMG Project One!
