992 GT3 RS Manthey Evening with Christian Eike

RPM Technik has been building Manthey GT cars since 2020 and with the release of the latest 992 GT3 RS MR we were fortunate enough to have Christian Eike, Sales Manager of Manthey Racing in for the event. The evening showcased not only the new radical 992 GT3 RS MR but also gave a really interesting history of the brand too.

Christian talked us through the storied history of Manthey with their 25 years of racing success from their original 993 RSR MR in 1997 to present day with the current lineup of Porsche GT MR options. He continued to explain about the testing and development process of the new 992 GT3 RS MR and how they achieved their goal of absolute perfection through meticulous aerodynamic testing for maximised track performance.

This is done using the same extremely thorough testing process that Porsche themselves use for their GT products including countless kilometres of test and track driving as well as extensive aerodynamic tuning in the Porsche wind tunnel. The new GT3RS MR produces up to 1000kg of downforce through a series of modifications including a carbon wing somehow even larger than that on the standard GT3RS (while remaining road legal!)  and has airflow fed to it via the giant carbon shark fin that replaces the rear window. These features along with many other tweaks that Manthey makes to the car add an additional 140kg of downforce furthering the track prowess of this ‘winged monster’. A crazy 20% improvement on an already sticky Porsche, without increasing drag.

The new Manthey semi-active coilovers which are available to purchase independently from the aero kit and can be fitted to any 992 GT3RS. The new coilovers have increased spring rates of 30% at the front and 15% at the rear and variable damper tuning which is integrated and is operated easily via the PASM dial on the steering wheel. This allows  the driver to be in more control than ever before, without getting your hands dirty.
