997.2 GT3 ‘Touring’

The GT3 Porsche never made

The 997 GT3 has always been a particular favourite of Porsche fans, it’s the perfect balance of compact size, razor sharp driving dynamics and visceral experience, all topped off by the legendary 3.8L naturally aspirated Mezger engine. The 997 GT3 saw several different iterations including the RS and highly desirable 4.0 RS, but the one model that Porsche never made was a 997 GT3 Touring.

Originally released for the 991.2 GT3, the Touring package is universally appreciated as a more subtle avenue to enjoy the naturally aspirated GT3 life. The client who commissioned this build loved the Touring concept and his favourite generation of GT3 was the 997.2, therefore, to make his perfect build, we had to find a way to combine the two (and add some upgrades on-top).

Exterior & Performance

Exterior-wise, the GT3 Touring is finished in Atlas Grey and wearing the last production version of our carbon ducktail spoiler (originally designed for the line of CSR builds). Sporting a Shark Werks valved exhaust for a brutal yet still tuneful exhaust note and riding on a set of KW V3 coilovers, for increased compliance and adjustability. The original centre lock 997 GT3 wheels in silver and black painted brake calipers sitting over a set of carbon ceramic Surface Transform discs. The upgrades to this 997 aren’t only skin-deep, it has been designed and built to make the driving experience match its sleek looks.

Bespoke-trimmed interior

The interior is perhaps the main visual highlight of this build, there is no surface left untouched. Everything from the door handles to the dashboard to the gearstick, everything has been refinished in navy blue leather or its signature blue tartan. The interior is completed with the ‘GT3 Touring’ moniker embroidered on the headrests of the carbon folding bucket seats. Fold those front seats down and you’ll reveal the added convenience of the two rear seats, trimmed in tartan to suit the rest of the interior, the rear seats allow for extra storage space or room for children (or maybe economically sized adults!)
