In nine months time it will be RPM Technik’s 20th year in business. We have in that time seen some highs, and indeed lows. We’ve built the business from a small startup in a competitive industry, expanded the business through a recession and piloted the company through the on-going Brexit chaos. However, we have also enjoyed some years where the market and business has grown at an incredible rate. Our key to our success has been our focus on being dynamic in responding to trading conditions and identifying opportunities inherent in these markets.
At the time of writing this, we have just entered the lockdown phase due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Following government advice we closed our car sales showrooms down on Monday and although garages are not required to close and we have a significant backlog of work we took the decision to close our service workshops on the Wednesday to help the national effort at social distancing. To say it is an anxious time for everyone, on many levels, would be an understatement. These are certainly unprecedented times. Our NHS and support industries are doing a great job and it is great to see the country rally behind them.
The RPM Technik team have been fantastic throughout these turbulent days, with everyone adopting the positive mind set, that we can get through this. A real feeling of a family holding together. Indeed outside of our facility all our supplier have been fantastic, including our main supplier Porsche GB deserving an extra special mention who have been superb with getting parts through to us, but obviously this has now also come to a halt.
Although it is unclear at the moment when both departments will re-open, however the directors and management team will be working hard during the lockdown on many things, including the development of innovative new operating protocols to help our business continue to give our customers great service through the periods of lockdown and social distancing that could extend into the foreseeable future.
Throughout the ‘lock down’ we are still able to help with sales enquiries on any cars we have in stock, or for anyone looking for more information on our SoR scheme, please contact Greig email@example.com. The workshop is handling enquiries and can provide any estimates required. We will also be scheduling bookings for when we reopen, please contact Lydia on firstname.lastname@example.org to see how we can assist.
Finally, we would also like to thank our loyal and supportive customer base. Their generosity and understanding has been incredible. We love what we do, but we can’t do it without your support. We cannot wait to welcome you all back into the business when this national emergency has passed, and we can indulge each other in our shared love of everything Porsche.
Take care everyone.
